2019-2020 Scholarship Recipient Zonta Scholarship FGCU Autism Disabilities independence quality
We are pleased to present a scholarship to Shelly Smith who is a Junior at FGCU majoring in Child and Youth Studies. She is an advocate for individuals with disabilities and is pursuing a career that provides youth with services that will support and assist them in seeking and maintaining employment, which will inevitably enhance their independence and overall quality of life. Congratulations Shelly, we wish you continued success  throughout the Academic Year.

Zonta Club for Fort Myers has created the Zonta Club of Fort Myers Area Scholarship Endowed Fund in partnership with the Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU).  The two organizations have joined forces to assist women with their education. Zonta of Fort Myers raises funds for this scholarship program and maintains an endowed scholarship. We may present one to two scholarships each year.

How do you apply?

Complete Scholarship Application through FGCU (Zonta of Fort Myers does not initiate the scholarship application). Zonta of Fort Myers selects the recipient(s) from a list provided by the FGCU. This is done without fanfare and we may or may not participate in the recognition dinners.

Preference will be given to individuals
  • returning to school after interrupting their education for a period of two or more years;
  • who are the primary caregivers of their families
  • whose other avenues for grants and scholarships have been exhausted
